We extend our congratulations to those who won band scholarships last week at the Senior Honors Ceremony. The band scholarship winners are as follows:
John Philip Sousa Award - Jessica Sieg Patrick Gilmore Award - Brandon Tsirlin Louis Armstrong Jazz Award - Scott Dlugos Semper Fidelis Award- Jessica Sieg Director Leadership Award- Carmen Iammarino Alfonzo Marra Memorial Scholarship - Laurel Coppersmith Congratulations to all winners, and to all of the other band members who won other scholarships from organizations all around the community! The Jazz Band performance at Commencement is this Sunday. Drop off is at 12:30pm at the secret side door (see document for diagram). We will finish performing at 1:40, and should be picked up from the same door at that time. Please forward any questions to Mr. Fancher at [email protected]
I am sorry to share that this year's band Cedar Point trip has been cancelled. We realize that it is a great opportunity for students to share their time together before the summer kicks off, and before the Class of 2016 heads off into the next stage of their life. Unfortunately, various issues with scheduling are preventing us from being able to go ahead with the trip as planned. We have all intents to continue the trip in future years.
If students would like to go on their own, be aware that online tickets are only $45 on the Cedar Point website. We also encourage all band members to attend the lock-in this Friday as the last band social event of the year. Information can be found here. See the attached document for information and the permission slip for the lock-in. It will take place from 11pm on May 20th, to 7am on May 21st. More details can be found on the document below.
Congratulations to the students who made our Flag and Catette Squads for the upcoming school year! See the attached for the list of students and information about necessary forms and meetings. The Band Accessories form is due Monday, May 9th for all auxiliaries. Please pass on any Flag and Catette questions to Ms. Wexler at [email protected] and any accessory questions to Mr. Treiber at [email protected].
