Well the news is finally out, and YES WE WILL BE PLAYING A HOME GAME NEXT FRIDAY ON 10/9/2020 AT 7 PM.
We will be playing Akron Kenmore High School, and WHEN we win this game, we will have another playoff game at home versus either Nordonia or Lakeside. Please read the following below:
Since this OHSAA sponsored, there is no opportunity for senior night. I sent that in a communication earlier on, but I am attaching once again for you to review. Also, I will be following the same format as we did last game. All students will need to be temperature checked before entering their seats. Students will need to wear khaki pants, band shirts, band shoes, and black socks. Same as before, and yes they can wear sweatshirts and coats in the stands. Those of you that have been to playoffs before. know it is a very tedious process, so please be patient.
Ticket information will be handled next week. Now please understand that the kids do not have school that day, and I am making temperature check/call time 5:45 PM. I will need everyone to start their temp checks by 5:45 and seated by 6:10 PM. We will once again do pre-game from the stands and then do our halftime show as normal. Next week, there is Wednesday night practice at 5:30-7:15 PM. I need all students there, I know kids have homework, etc, but they are not having sectionals next week, so they have plenty of time to catch up on work. Students need to be at Wednesday rehearsal or they run the risk of not performing.
I know these times are crazy, but I will communicate with you each day next week because of potential changes. I cannot express to all of you how proud I am of this group. I have been given many compliments, and truly those compliments all should go to the staff, parents, and students; they are the ones making this work. Mark your calender's for 10/9 and 10/16, because it will be an amazing ride, and it is our job to get this team fired up and ready!!!!
Keep EMBRACING THE CHALLENGE, Mayfield, and always ROCK ON!!!! Always excited, always jacked up, always awake early, and ALWAYS HUMBLED AND BLESSED TO BE YOUR DIRECTOR!
Mr. Palermo
